Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)
UC Riverside Army ROTC, one of six universities in the Claremont McKenna College Golden Lions, partners with the University of California, Riverside to teach, coach, and mentor cadets on their academic and leadership development journey to become commissioned officers in the United States Army upon graduation.
Vision:
The Golden Lions Battalion Serves as the premiere Senior ROTC program in Southern California, committed to developing Leaders of Character in service to our communities and our nation.
Mission Statement:
The Golden Lions Battalion recruits, educates, and trains ROTC cadets to commission future Leaders of Character dedicated to personal and professional excellence and committed to serving the Army and our nation.
UC Riverside students can participate in Army ROTC through cooperative agreements with host universities in the Inland Empire.
ROTC Cadets currently earn academic credit for ROTC courses through a cross-enrollment procedure with California State University San Bernardino.
Students participate in the cross-enrollment process with the permission of their college dean.
Academic units earned in ROTC programs are counted as elective units toward UC Riverside graduation requirements.
